LIQUID COOLING
Facility readiness assessment, rack/CDU integration guidance, interoperability specifications, and operations runbooks.
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
The Liquid Cooling project addresses the growing need for efficient thermal management in high-density AI deployments. As GPU power consumption increases, liquid cooling becomes essential for many deployments. This project develops facility readiness assessments, rack and CDU integration guidance, interoperability specifications, and operations runbooks that help operators successfully deploy and manage liquid-cooled AI infrastructure.
WHO PARTICIPATES
- Facility managers preparing for liquid cooling
- Cooling equipment manufacturers
- Server and rack vendors
- Data center operators scaling AI capacity
- MEP engineers designing cooling systems
KEY AREAS
Facility Readiness Assessment
Evaluation frameworks and checklists for assessing data center readiness for liquid cooling deployment, including plumbing, electrical, and structural considerations.
Rack/CDU Integration
Technical guidance for integrating liquid-cooled racks with coolant distribution units (CDUs), covering piping, flow rates, temperature management, and monitoring.
Interoperability Guidance
Specifications and guidelines ensuring liquid cooling components from different vendors can work together effectively in production environments.
Operations Runbooks
Operational procedures for day-to-day management of liquid-cooled infrastructure, including maintenance schedules, leak detection, and emergency procedures.
